CAP HENRY and Team CHR Join World of Outlaws at Fremont on Saturday

October 15, 2011

When CAP HENRY and Team CHR are not running with the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car series, they rarely sit idle and watch.  Rather, they will add dates to their schedule that make the most sense…like when the World of Outlaws comes into “their neighborhood”.

This Saturday night, JASON MEYERS brings his “Drive For Five” (he’s won the last 4-in-a-row Outlaws events) to the Fremont Speedway, a 1/3 mile bullring the WoO regulars have enjoyed for over 20 years.  Cap and Team CHR have competed well with “these guys” their last few times and they are ready to show their hometown regulars what they are capable of.

“Even though we have been taken out by mechanical issues, we have run strong with the Outlaws and I really want to show them what we can do”, said Cap loading the hauler for this weekend.  “My crew continues to give me a great race car….we just gotta finish strong to prove we are just as good as these guys!”

Last weekend, the team introduced an opportunity for fans to grab a 2011 limited edition item and also help a wonderful cause, Breast Cancer Awareness.  Just go to: www.CapHenryRacing.com for full details…

“Fremont is a short drive from our shop and we always want to do well in front of our local fans, friends and families”, said team owner KIT HENRY.  “Our guys are hanging tough after everything we have been through this summer and a great showing (on Saturday) will give us all a great boost.”

The All Star finals week is coming up in the first week of November and Cap and crew are already looking forward to next month and beyond.

Cap will finish 4th overall in All Star’s National Points behind DALE BLANEY, TIM SHAFFER and DAVID GRAVEL and with a healthy margin over fifth place PETE MILLER III…

Going PINK this weekend…

October 7, 2011

Cap Henry going PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness! As CAP HENRY and Team CHR slowly wind down the 2011 season, they’ll show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness by converting their normally gold numbers to pink.

“Like so many, our team and families have all been touched by this terrible disease and we want do our part as well”, said team owner KIT HENRY.  “This weekend, we are holding a special sale of our team apparel with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Awareness.”

This will be a great opportunity for fans to grab a 2011 limited edition item and also help a wonderful cause.  Just go to: www.CapHenryRacing.com for full details.

With just a few races left on the 2011 calendar, Team CHR heads back to Fremont Speedway for a weekend double-header and a final tune-up for the “All Star Circuit of Champions” finale in two weeks.

“I cannot begin to tell you how proud I am of what this team has overcome this year”, Kit continued.  “To finish as well as we have with everything we have put behind us shows just how tough we are and how committed our sponsors, crew and fans have been…the words “Thank You” are not big enough!”

Over the last several days, CAP HENRY and Team CHR…

October 1, 2011

Over the last several days, CAP HENRY and Team CHR competed in three “World of Outlaws” dates in prep for the final stretch run of the “All Star Circuit of Champions”…

The team has packed for Eldora Speedway for a second appearance in 8-days and Cap and crew are ready.  “(Crew chief) A.J. Havens and I gained some valuable knowledge last weekend and we think we’ll have a great set-up”, Cap said.  “With it being a little cooler, we’ll be fast and the track should have more grip…and we’re ready because we really had a “comfortable” car last week”.

Not sure how you make a 410 winged sprint car “comfortable”, but Cap also learned about “racing clean but aggressive” against the Outlaws veterans.  Cap’s youth was tested several times at Eldora but he kept his cool and passed for position regardless of how hard he was being held back.  A mechanical issue sidelined the team about half way through the A-Main as Cap had worked his into the Top 10.

The team will run both 410 and 360 cars on Saturday competing in the “Eldora Sprintacular”  with the “NRA Sprint Invaders” series as well.

Cap will finish 4th overall in All Star’s National Points behind DALE BLANEY, TIM SHAFFER and DAVID GRAVEL and with a healthy margin over fifth place PETE MILLER III…
