CAP HENRY and Team CHR Rumble Into Fort Wayne for Annual Indoor Classic!
January 1, 2012
So much for the holidays and the “off season” as Team CHR and Cap Henry head to Fort Wayne, Indiana for the “Rumble Series”, an indoor classic featuring winged outlaw modified midgets, non-winged mini-sprints, karts and quarter midgets.
Team CHR is no stranger to the event which takes place both Friday and Saturday of New Year’s Eve Weekend. Having battled with some of the best drivers from the Midwest in the past, the weekend will draw thousands of fans each night and former champions TONY STEWART and DAVE DARLAND are perennial favorites alongside dozens of short-track racing’s next generation superstar.
Thanks to being in the wrong spot at the wrong time, Cap crashed hard into the barriers Thursday night after trailing a car that broke a radiator right in front of him. Even though he was pretty sore on Friday morning with bruises on his arm and leg, Cap laid down a Top 7 qualifying run in the middle of day in preparation for the Friday night racing schedule starting at 7pm.
“It’s a little tough but once the adrenalin kicks in, I’m fine”, he said after a couple of solid sessions. “The cars are great and we knew we had a good shot for the weekend after testing both cars last week. I can’t wait to get at it tonight!”
