Another long week for Team CHR included a blown motor, a schedule change with the World of Outlaws and a quick trip back to their northern Ohio shop to get set for a triple-header weekend with the All Star Circuit of Champions.

Thanks to the cool, moist air from the previous trek, most of the team traded turns “being under the weather” but they are ready to battle the “Pennsylvania Posse” at Wiliams Grove Speedway (Friday night), Port Royal Speedway (Saturday) and Clinton County Raceway (Sunday).  All three races could offer a great payday with top prizes of $5,000.00, $10,000.00 and $5,000.00 respectively….any of which will make any team feel better!

“Our guys endured a long week on the road, overcame mechanical issues and still kept their focus as they competed really well with the Outlaws,” said team owner KIT HENRY from their Bellevue shop.  “This team never ceases to amaze me at how hard they work and I think it shows on the track…we’re qualifying great and we’re holding our own while racing the best guys in the business…”

The team sits 4th in National points, just 40 points shy of the Top 3 behind DALE BLANEY, TIM SHAFFER and DAVID GRAVEL.

This past week has been a long week…

This past week has been a long week on the road for Cap Henry and Team CHR as they “camped out” in Missouri awaiting their next night with the World of Outlaws.  Expecting to race five dates over ten days was the original plan until “Mother Nature” took over.

Last Friday night, the team had a decent run only to be followed by a Saturday night rain-out.  So what has the team done to keep them busy all week?

“We’ve logged a lot of PlayStation time and updated our Facebook and Twitter feeds”, said a lighthearted Cap from the team hauler.  “I’m anxious to get back to the track tonight so we can all get back to work!”

Fortunately, the team has only had to worry about race prep as their confidence and knowledge of the Outlaws continues to evolve.  “With each race, we get stronger and we continue to understand how good the competition is which only makes us better.”

Friday night, a visit to Sedalia and the Missouri State Fair is followed by another “first time visit” to Haubstadt, Indiana, an ultra fast track and a great venue for sprint car fans.

The final Outlaws date of this tour takes them to Farmer City, IL for a Wednesday night race before their All-Star triple-header weekend April 27th, 28th and 29th in Pennsylvania.

Over the last few weeks…

Cap Henry at VolusiaOver the last few weeks, CAP HENRY and Team CHR have spent time at the closest race track to their shop, Attica Raceway Park.  Not only did the 20 minute drive relieve the stress of constantly being on the road, the guys worked out of their own shop and slept in their own beds…and then battled some of the toughest winged sprint car drivers from all over the country.

Through all of this, they have finalized a relationship with K&N to become their “Official Provider” for air and oil filters as well as their top-shelf line of products.  “We are ecstatic to have them on board with us…their name is associated with some of the top teams in motorsports and we are proud to be working with them,” said Team Owner KIT HENRY.

In the last two weekends, a Top 5 finish and strong qualifying has only helped the team to prepare for what could be one of their toughest stretches this spring…five dates with the World of Outlaws followed by a triple-header weekend with the “P-A Posse” as they merge back into the All Star Circuit of Champions schedule.

“The caliber of cars we have run against will only make us better,” said Crew Chief A.J. HAVENS from the team hauler on the road to Paducah, Kentucky, their first of eight races in this stretch.  “Racing these teams night after night only makes us stronger and I think we continue to improve every time we unload.”

The team pulls into Paducah International Raceway on Friday and move over to I-55 Raceway in Pevely, MO on Saturday.  Staying in the “Show Me State” all week, the team will run dates at the Missouri State Fair Speedway next Friday and roll back to Haubstadt, Indiana to be at the ultra-fast Tri-State Speedway Saturday, April 21st.  Their final Outlaws date of this tour takes them to Farmer City, IL for a Wednesday night race before their All-Star triple-header weekend April 27th, 28th and 29th in Pennsylvania.

Last weekend, CAP HENRY and Team CHR…

“We were hooked up”, Cap said while relaxing earlier in the day on Good Friday.  “A.J. and the crew really had the car set up well and it’s always more fun when the car feels great!”

Attica is one of the sites where Cap has won a “Rookie-of-the-Year” title and he knows many of the competitors because this weekend’s double-header will include the Attica regulars plus many of the All-Stars and World of Outlaws winged sprinters.  Word has it a couple of NASCAR stars could be running with TONY STEWART and KASEY KAHNE spending their “off weekend” in their first love…a sprint car.

Cap was asked what its like to run with “those guys” and he replied, “I think we’ll be good because we have run with them all in the past…and when our car is right, I love fighting with all of them because they run you hard but fair.  However, Tony Stewart is REAL GOOD in a winged sprint car! ”

This weekend, Attica kicks off the spring leg of the All Stars tour and pays a total of $8,000.00 to win over both nights.  Beginning next week, Team CHR will run several dates with the World of Outlaws catching back up with All Stars at the end of April as they swing through Pennsylvania for the first of two trips with the “P.A. Posse”.
