Saturday Night Update: Cap is Fastest Qualifier; Finishes 7th in Fremont ASCOC “A” Main

Friday Night Update: Cap Finishes Impressive 11th Place on the Dirt Track at Charlotte

This weekend, CAP HENRY and Team CHR will attempt a very aggressive Memorial Day race schedule. On Thursday evening, they rolled into Charlotte to spend Friday night with the World of Outlaws and get in front of some of “that NASCAR holiday crowd” at “the Dirt Track”.

“We’re anxious to get at these guys,” said Cap driving down the highway. “Our team has really worked hard and we know we can run with the Outlaws….I’d just like to have a complete night where we can show them what we can do…!”

Following a non-eventful all-nighter back to northern Ohio Saturday, the guys will pull off a double-header on Saturday and Sunday at Fremont Speedway with back-to-back dates with the All Stars. At least they’ll get to sleep in their own beds over the weekend as they head south to another Outlaws event at Lawrenceburg Speedway in southeastern Indiana on Memorial Day Monday.

“It’s an aggressive schedule for our team but they wanted to do it,” said team owner, KIT HENRY. “It’ll be an exhausting weekend but these guys know when to step it up and I think they’re due for a great run…and we just might get it done on this one…!”

Team CHR fans will notice that they are picking up as many World of Outlaws dates as they can add to their already crazed summer schedule. With the way the team has been performing, we should see them break into a Top 10 / Top 5 finish soon as they have been getting better each time they run with the “best in the land”…

CAP HENRY and Team CHR at Eldora…

If you listen to the Weather Channel, “Mother Nature” is one of two things: a “big tease” or a “non-race fan”…either of which can play havoc on any team travelling from their shop to any track during the Spring months.

“If we don’t fire our motors and take the track, we don’t get paid anything, let alone the huge emotional let down after being psyched to run!” said team owner KIT HENRY from their northern Ohio home base. “With fuel costs, logistics and taking care of the crew, a rainout can hit a small team like us pretty hard.”

Regardless, the “fire and desire” the team unloads in any pit area overshadows all other emotions and being back on a World of Outlaws grid at a historic track like Eldora becomes the primary focus. Having run several Outlaws dates already this season has given this team the confidence that they “can compete with these guys”.

“We always want to run well at Eldora,” said CAP HENRY. “This place has so much history and to win on TONY STEWART’s track would be huge…but we know we have to have our best game face on with the Outlaws.”

A Friday and Saturday night double-header at Eldora kicks of the weekend with a mid-week stop at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa. on Wednesday. The team re-joins the All Star Circuit of Champions next weekend at Mercer, Pa. on May 12th.
