CAP HENRY and Team CHR Finish Season Tonight at Eldora
October 12, 2013
Typically, all race teams find the final race of the season bittersweet and two ways to look forward:”Thankfully, this dismal year is over!” OR “I can’t wait ’til we unload again!” For CAP HENRY and Team CHR, it’s somewhere in the middle as the rollercoaster ride that was the 2013 season ends at the site of Cap’s best “World of Outlaws” finish…Eldora.
“It’s been a good year overall and I can’t complain…”, Cap said from the team’s Bellevue, Ohio shop while prepping for the three hour drive to the track Saturday morning. “I’m looking forward to racing Eldora where I had my best Outlaws finish and I’ve had decent runs there in the past…just hoping to knock down a Top 10 run to finish the year strong…”
The up-and-down season almost didn’t have a finish because of numerous equipment failures early on, draining the small family backed team of funds and stressing the entire organization. They regrouped by selling off some “extra equipment” which helped them get to mid-season and the Knoxville Nationals. Cap had an incredible weekend running second is his “A” Main qualifier advancing him to Saturday’s “richest date in sprint car racing” where he finished an impressive 10th place…also giving him the biggest paycheck of his career…!
“We’re going to finish 4th in “All Star” points this year so tonight is all about running hard and but enjoying the night…my guys have stuck with me all summer and I want to give them one more great effort in return…”
