CAP HENRY’s Return to Australia for Two Weeks of “Wingin’ it Down Under”

Normally, this time of year, a dirt track racer is anxious for the snow to melt and the mud to dry so they can get back on the track.  Your best bet is to head South and run at the beginning of the year over a thousand miles from home…

Or, in CAP HENRY’s world, you go way South…like all the way to Australia…that’s some 9231.7 miles if you’re counting.  Following a 19-hour flight, a couple of in-flight “power naps” (no racer can really sleep on a jet…) and a readjustment to time changes (Toowoomba, Australia is 15 hours from Cap’s home in Bellevue, Ohio), Cap arrived and dropped his gear at the shop of team owner’s DAVE and JEN WHELLon Sunday, February 2nd.

“I am really excited that Dave and Jen have given me the opportunity to return to Australia to run at the tracks I have been in the past…”, an exhausted but reinvigorated Cap said.  “I’m anxious to get on the track and put the “USA 54 Toowoomba Car Wreckers” (410 winged sprint car) up against some new competitors I’ll be facing…”

On Saturday night, February 8th, the team will run at “the Toowoomba Speedbowl”, in Toowoomba, Australia, the home of IndyCar driver WILL POWER and about an hour or so due west of Brisbane, Australia.

Next weekend, the team heads to Archerfield International Speedway located on the southside of Brisbane.  Cap will race 410 winged sprints very similar to what he has run in the “All Star Circuit of Champions” and “World of Outlaws” here in the States.
